My style of wedding photography in Myrtle Beach
Most importantly I love what I do and I try to offer the best personal service and amazing images. Most brides today are looking for a mix of photojournalist and traditional style photography, Myrtle Beach is the perfect place for this. I concentrate less on poses and more on capturing the perfect moments. While I will set up traditional formal portraits, I take hundreds of candid shots of the event as it happens, documenting the event and the emotions of the day. When I do pose a couple I concentrate on relaxed, candid and fun shots using the location well. I use modern photography techniques and top of the line Nikon equipment that I think you will appreciate when looking at my galleries.
Local Small Business Service . . .
Owning my own local Myrtle Beach photography business I'm able to offer a unique level of personal service. Because I work for myself and this is my full time job, I will go the extra mile to make my clients happy, the reputation of my business relies upon it. Ryan Smith Photography is a licensed and insured retail business with the state of SC, for full information about myself and this business click here.
My philosophy for a finished product . . .
I notice overly processed images on many photographer's websites, the more stylized and processed an image is, the more chance it will look dated in a few years. Instead of relying on Photoshop filters, mixing textures, vignettes and strange color effects, I prefer clear, crisp and clean color and black and white images that can only be done with Nikon's best lenses and a expert understanding of lighting and flash. However a reasonable amount of artistic and general touchup Photoshop work and special effects on all prints or albums sides included at no charge.

Myrtle Beach City Wedding Laws
Please note: Even though I have a Myrtle Beach city business license, they do not allow professional photography on the actual beach sand within the city limits. The wedding venues will not mention this to you unless you ask, the hotel owned property is fine but you cannot go into the sand. If I'm caught taking pictures in MB city limits it's a $500 fine. Like many other photographers in the area, we are no longer taking the risk. This is only in the Myrtle Beach city limits which are fairly small. Areas in North Myrtle Beach like Kingston Plantation and also areas south of the Myrtle Beach State Park are fine for beach pictures. For some reason the Grande Dunes seems excluded from the normal MB city laws on this matter and beach photography is allowed there.
