Father and Daughter Dance

Wedding at the Breakers Resort in Myrtle Beach

June 29th, 2010

Below are some samples from the first of my 3 weddings this past weekend, this one was at the Breakers Resort Palms Tower.  This constant heat we have been having is very exhausting.  All the weddings turned out really nice, so that is what is important.  Plus I can’t complain about having plenty of work right now, that is certainly a good thing.  I took a lot of really good shots of the bride getting tearful dancing with her father at the reception, I posted one below. Shots that capture emotion are of course the ones that really stand out. That is why I take pictures almost constantly, I’m always afraid I might miss something good.  I hope you enjoy these and I will put up more from the weekend once I get them ready.

Wedding at Marriott Resort and Spa, Myrtle Beach

June 23rd, 2010

Here are a few of the pictures from my wedding this past Sunday at the Marriott Resort and Spa at The Grande Dunes near the ocean in Myrtle Beach, that’s a long name for a location. The weather actually turned out to be perfect for the wedding. This couple was very easy to work with, I did engagement portraits with them previously that turned out really great as well.  There were actually a ton of pictures I liked, I tried to pick out a few to post on the blog.  I normally like my pictures really clean without a lot of silly Photoshop effects, the kind that I’ve noticed some photographers use to draw attention away from bad pictures.  If you see a short depth of field (blurry out of focus background) it’s being done in camera.  However one of the pictures below I used the Totally Rad Actions F-Zero action for a tilt shift lens effect.  It looks like something you might get from a Lens Baby without the trouble of using one, and I thought it really worked for that picture.  I hope you like the pictures, if you do don’t forget to click the Facebook like button above.

Fun reception in the rain

June 19th, 2010

Last weekend I had two weddings both outdoors.  The weather has been extremely hot, two weddings in the heat is really a killer.  I don’t have time to post many pictures, but I picked out some that I liked from my Sunday wedding in North Myrtle Beach.  I’m already loading into my computer more wedding pictures from today, in June things are kind of non stop.  The wedding shown below was quite a party, they really had some fun.  I’ve never seen a first dance quite like they did, but I like it when things are just fun and everyone is more relaxed.Garter toss

Busy time of the year

June 11th, 2010

I haven’t posted to the blog in a while, I’ve just been really busy.  I’ve got two weddings this weekend and have been working on albums and things.  I just thought I would quickly put up some of my favorites from the last week or so.  I’ve had some pretty grumpy kids recently but it seems like if I just give them enough time I can always get some good shots.  I always try to tell parents not to get upset with the kids when we first start, it seems like in a large group someone is going to be acting up.  But usually if you let the kids just play some you can at least get some nice candid pictures.  And usually they will eventually sit still for some more posed shots.  Every once in a while nothing you do will work, but that is just going to happen.  I just think you have a much better chance of getting good pictures on the beach then in a studio, it’s just a lot more fun and relaxed.
